We know by animal experiments that CO2 from plants is more toxic than HCO3-membrane, but the human lungs naturally contain many key elements that can impart this neurotoxicity. 2 million people worldwide are affected by acute pulmonary injury. Humans and animals are at high risk of acute pulmonary injury. We have already performed a range of ventilatory studies to understand the effects of the CO2-derived HCO3-memb and compare the findings here with the results of acute lung injury models that include rats and dogs.
